The technologically advanced PCS-2000 coating defect survey equipment can replace the 'Pearson' Holiday Detector which was developed in the 1950's. Pipe-CAMP Instruments, developed in the 1980's, are continually developing the PCS-2000to suit current demands of this industry. Our research and development (R & D) has made several innovations since it was invented. The PCS-2000is patented world-wide.

The accuracy of pin pointing coating defects using the PCS-2000 equipment is +/- 100mm and consistency of locating defects is 99% accurate.

More recently we have incorporated GPS into our field practice for surveying, thus allowing all features (including defects, test points, fences, roads, meter posts, rivers etc.) to be pinpointed with a GPS co-ordinate to an accuracy of less than a metre. All features given three coordinates can thus be subsequently located for proactive action. GPS also allows for the altitude to be established. Our back pack contains the on-board data correction with a roaming antennae that can be used all over the world. Recent repeating developments has allowed for integration between CIPS,Intelligent Pig and Cathodic Protection audit reports, hence allowing for pipeline operators/owners to maximise on pipeline integrity and service life extension.
